Excellent company, when the lads from Newman's turned up it was like a hurricane of removals. We moved from a 3 bedroom detached average amount of furniture, a full garage packed from back to front with boxes, garden furniture, ketter storage boxes Just for everyones info they arrived at 9 they had our house packed and away by 10.45. They waited outside our new house until we got the keys, the key went into the lock and our belongings were in our new house in 1 h 30 mins. The attitude of the team was outstanding, cant recommend highly enough.
We were let down by another removal company, which meant that 5 days before the big move we called Newman's who did everything they could to help us. They arrived at 9am this morning as promised, and the guys were brilliant - very hardworking, polite, careful and respectful with our furniture and boxes of possessions. They worked incredibly quickly, removing everything from a large 4 bedroomed house in just 2 hours, including a big awkward fridgefreezer! Nothing was too much trouble. Newman's will also be storing everything for us while we decide on our next home, and we have absolute faith in them. I would highly recommend Brett and his team to anyone. Keep up the good work guys!
We recently moved and Newmans provided both the packing and removal service for us. The lads worked their socks off for two days and I have nothing but praise for them.In short we received a great service and they were punctual, efficient, polite & helpful.
We used Newmans for our home move and storage last week. In contrast to the previous reviewers comments (which I was surprised to read), we found them very helpful, extremely quick to respond to our queries and accommodating to our unusual requests (some stuff going to storage, some coming out early so was stored for easy access, and more goods coming at a later date). Mr Newman visited us for a quote and made notes on our content, he provided helpful advice on how best to pack the boxes, shown me the stronger boxes they sell, went through how they pack the content into wooden indoor containers and hang the sofa on a rack to protect it from pressure points, how they wrap furniture before packing into van and protect mattresses, amongst other things. This was all listed in the price he sent over within an hour of visiting. The price included dissembling the standard bed, removing a door to get the washing machine out of the utilities area and covered the move into the next place (not local) and reassembling.On the day, the removal guys came and were very helpful. They made an inventory of everything they were taking for us to double check (and again went through the list before leaving before I signed). After a cuppa they got to work and removed everything quite quickly. They provided help and advice for dissembling a corner sofa which I had agreed to do myself, but hadnt by the time they arrived due to time, and me being baffled by how it comes apart! They even let me borrow tools I couldnt find amongst the chaos of packing, and gave me use of their packing tape to strengthen boxes that were a bit weak or were not yet packed. Overall, we were very pleased with the service all-round, especially how accommodating they were to storing the dinner table that need to be accessed in a months time, and storing addition items at a later date for a small additional cost. The quote had a list of what was included, although this wasnt broken down by individual cost we were happy with the price so it wasnt an issue for us. I found them very quick to respond to our questions and would strongly recommend them to friends and family requiring removal services.
Absolutely hopeless. I asked Newmans to come round & give me an estimate for a house move. During the visit the man (his surname was Newman so I assume he's someone with a reasonable interest in the business), went through all the rooms, noted all the things that needed moving - including items from the garage. I specifically asked during the visit about packing boxes - whether these could be supplied & was told the quote would include details. A few days later I received the quote vie email - I have included the entire quote below;"To remove large items of furniture a s discussed from above address to localaddress including insurance" XXXThat's the entire quote, they managed to get my name wrong & there is no mention of boxes or any other items. I was concerned that with so little detail in the quote there might be problems on moving day - i.e. them saying that the quote didn't include something because we have no inventory of large items to be moved, I emailed them back asking them about boxes - and received the reply below from the person who came & did the quote;"Hi I was instructed to quote for moving large items only. I wasn't asked to supply boxes and tape etc when I visited."- they didn't even have the sense to actually give me any information about boxes - so I assume they're not really interested in moving my things. I had assumed - what with the recession & the housing market being a little slow - they'd be more interested in making an effort - I would avoid these people as they really don't seem to be professional, or have any sense or interest in actually moving me,
