Enjoyed the company and ambience tonight. The food turned out to be quite reasonable and tasty, the staff very attentive. Enjoyed the visit!
Very clean and well organized. Good looking bar and restaurant with helpful young staff.We went for a quiet breakfast but quickly found ourselves surrounded by people as the popularity of the place came out. Didn't detract from the quality of the experience though.Quiet but noticeable music in the background was classic and well chosen. Conversation light and no screaming children (at that point).Food arrived promptly and with a good amount of thinking and chatting time for choices. Excellently cooked and presented and even though it is only standard fare it was still noticeably well prepared. Prices were a little high but the quality was only a little below the asking price else it may have earned 5 stars.Adding more food to the plate or increasing the quality to match the price would do that I think.I would certainly go again.
A very tasty brunch in there of smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and wholemeal toast and butter, and orange juice and coffee. Pleasant surroundings. At about 10 15am, it was busy, with people on laptops, having breakfast. Obviously popular with business people. We found a table for two. We were then happy to drive from Coventry to Essex without a further stop.
Went for a Christmas meal. Pate starter lacked seasoning and tasted watery as if defrosted. Ratio of pate to toast was way out of proportion. Roast pork main was very nice and great veg with it, would of automatically liked gravy to be offered as they give a smear, had to ask and wasn't same taste as the one on plate.. Chocolate tart with baileys cream very nice. Good meal starter lacked hence rating.
A nice bar, very busy, kinda trendy place. For me it's just a bit too trendy and expensive for my liking. They serve food and cocktails. And decent beer though. Music, and live acoustic music some nights too.
