Pretty average as a restaurant. Would be decent for a drink and to watch the football
Great gym with a large selection of free weights and machines. They've just updated all the weights machines with a wider selection. Plenty of cardio machines and air-conditioned throughout. There are a couple of extra rooms full of weights and spinning bikes. 25 meter pool which is laned off for lengths. Finish off in the steamroom, sauna and jacuzzi.
So glad I joined this gym. Excellent selection and quantity of classes, so much variety every single day at all times. Most trainers are engaging, helpful and address you personally and give you information before you start a class for the first time. You get lots of perks for joining such as discounts at the pub and restaurant and spa, I've yet to use these but the menu looks yum. I love the swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room, and the changing rooms + showers are 5 stars. Gym equipment is great and connects to a fitness tracking app which is really helping my fitness journey, gym staff are happy to help and finally the tanita body measurement scale is super helpful to track progress of body fat and muscle percentage.
AWFUL RUN DOWN GYM, POORLY RUN BY CERI. Wish I could give zero stars but the review won't allow it. Where do I start?! Never do reviews but people need to know what this gym is like. The mens changing rooms are never clean and smell of urine. Can't shower there any more after the gym because it is that filthy. Makes it harder as if gymming before work have to take a detour back home to shower before going onto work. The gym staff are the 'cleaners' but never clean. Lazy staff who never get pulled up by their manager Ceri because she is just as lazy. She never wants to listen to members and get the problems sorted. She makes it clear you can just leave and you can't complain to her for too long as she will just march you off the premises as she has done with others! Not sure how she is still employed there but she is more interested in new members than retaining existing ones. All you hear staff saying is it is about targets so your a number not a name. Staff are either standing around talking or sat in the office, not actually doing their job. If someone had a turn for the worst in the gym they would have to rely on other members to help them as the staff would only notice when the paramedics were on site! The reception staff are just as bad, miserable and rude, never get a smile or acknowledged. Lauren is one of them and is usually sat on the reception desk with 1-2 others having chats about what they are getting up to later. Bikes in the spin classes are broken but you have to rely on members telling you not to use them as they have no out of order sign on them. If you are lucky enough to get on a bike even though you are booked on the class, you may lose a leg as the pedal can fall off or your bike shoe could come off the pedal - yes this has been witnessed many a time! The flooring in the studio is a death trap. If you're lucky, you get to stand on an even area, if not, you have to stand on the uneven area and hope you don't lose your footing depending on the class move! It is always wet and slippy after a class. They promote Myzone but then this is unreliable and it hasn't been working in the spin studio properly. The pool side is filthy and although they say you have the use of the sauna, steam and jacuzzi, that is when they are working. The jacuzzi has so much chlorine in it is unbearable and they can't always get the levels right so have to turn it off. The sauna door trim to keep the heat in is broken and hasn't been fixed so depending on where you sit you will just get the cold. Memberships have had a change of staff for the worse. They seem to have got rid of the old team who were friendly and replaced them with people who sit around chatting and not value your custom. They decide what price they give you so if the face fits you are lucky but if not, when you start chatting to people about how much they pay you find out some pay lower. They have changed the gym to 24 hours but there is no access to the showers, changing rooms or lockers during this - not that the showers and changing rooms are clean anyway as the cleaners are no where to be seen. Overall, what was a nice gym has turned into a shoddy run down poorly run place. Ceri needs to be spoken to by her manager and the problems needs to be sorted from the top down. The place needs to be cleaned and kept on top of, things that are broken fixed, flooring in studio 2 repaired and made safe or replaced, bikes repaired and staff pulled up on their laziness and attitude. With the great members and great instructors, may be ... just may be, the place will then start to go back to what it was. Many members are waiting for the Warwick university gym to open so this gym needs to take note of peoples comments rather than throwing the comment cards away and listen to their feedback when complaining to reception. The members and the instructors are the only thing keeping this gym going.
Never the one to do reviews but this place is going downhill every day. Theres always something which is not working on the pool side. The Hot tub was broken for over a week. Now that its up and running again, they keep switching it off because they cannot get the chlorine and heat levels correct. For a paying member who only uses the place at the weekends and the facilities not working as they should most weekends I think the service is pathetic. Its a shame because this was one of the best facilities in Coventry about a year ago. They just dont seem to care anymore.
