Booked a standard room and the matress was terrible. The standard rooms seem to just be in a metal shed with single glazing. Once I complained about the room I was given a free upgrade by the guy on reception. He was extremely helpful throughout. The first room deserves one star. Staff deserve five for helpfulness. Watch out on which room you choose!
Lovely hotel, food was good.Possible areas for improvement: the bed was too small, poor sound proofing (noisey rooms and corridors), no cold drinking water in the rooms (water was always warm to hot from the cold tap)Tables and plates were never cleared in dining areas. (New Year's Eve wedding and breakfast on the following morning.) If these issues were addressed, I would give 5 stars! It was a beautiful hotel.
Grew up right by the Chace it's a regular for family and friends.. since 1st going in there to present day I genuinely can't say a bad word.. great place for a drink.. easy access for all.. has transportation links right outside it door
Visited for afternoon tea in the new Laura Ashley tea room. Decor was lovely, staff very helpful and attentive. Only thing that let's it down is the entrance when you can find it, not a good first impression.
A bit rough around the edges, but generally OK for the money. Quite homely in a way, but the fixtures and fittings could definitely do with an upgrade.Breakfast was good.The staff were very pleasant and helpful.There's a good chippy 5 minutes walk up the road.
